You have a Mac and an iOS device such as iPhone or iPad. You don't have an AppleTV and you want to stream from your iOS device to your Mac. I will tell you how to do that without an Apple TV.

There are many apps fro this, but an app called AirServer works best. It uses AirPlay to achieve this. Follow the below guide to make it work.

• Download AirServer from here and install on your Mac.
• Since it has no UI, after installation, when you open the application, you will see an icon similar to AirPlay on the Menubar.
• Now on your iOS device, open Notification Centre, select Screen Mirroring.
• Now you will see your Mac as an Apple TV and you can select it to connect and stream your screen to your Mac.
• You can even record the stream with sound.

The macOS Mojave introduced a new desktop wallpaper mode called Dynamic Desktop. It looks and works fantastic. But you have a Mac that does not support Mojave or you don't want to run Mojave and still want that Dynamic Desktop, then you have good news. There is an application called "24 Hour Wallpaper". It works on macOS 10.11 El Capitan or later.
