The wait is over finally. After signing a petition with thousands of signatures, flooding Apple Discussion Forum with thousands of posts and even few lawsuits, Apple has responded. It has offered repair of MacBook Pros from Early 2011 to Early 2013 which are experiencing GPU related issues. All 15" and 17" MBPs are included. According to Apple, the symptoms are

An affected MacBook Pro may display one or more of the following symptoms:

• Distorted or scrambled video on the computer screen

• No video on the computer screen (or external display) even though the computer is on

• Computer restarts unexpectedly

Quick Look is an awesome feature in OS X. It lets you preview the file contents without opening the associated app. But normally, we cannot copy from that Quick Look window. With a nifty trick we can enable that so that you can copy from that window. To enable copying, just execute the following code in Terminal.

defaults write com.apple.finder QLEnableTextSelection -bool true;killall Finder
defaults delete com.apple.finder QLEnableTextSelection;killall Finder
